Si racconta che le isole dell’Arcipelago Toscano siano nate dalle sette perle di una collana caduta in mare. La leggenda è nota a molti; qualcuno ricorda anche le scorribande dei pirati, che giunsero fino a queste coste. Ma pochi conoscono la Capraia più intima: un’isola vulcanica, la più lontana dalla terraferma, rimasta fedele a un carattere aspro e autentico che il tempo non ha voluto addolcire.
UN’ISOLA, UN RIFUGIO
Nessuna folla, nessuna fretta. Soltanto il mare, la roccia rossa, il profumo della macchia mediterranea. È da qui che nasce Il Saracino: non una semplice dimora, ma un invito a un modo di stare al mondo più lento e più vero.
DUE MODI DI VIVERE L’ISOLA
Il Saracino custodisce due anime distinte, perché ogni viaggio ha il suo desiderio. I nostri nove appartamenti accolgono famiglie e amici in spazi ampi e luminosi, con angolo cottura e la libertà di vivere l’isola con i propri tempi, come in una casa propria. Le camere, più raccolte ed essenziali, sono pensate per le coppie, per chi viaggia in solitudine, per chi cerca semplicemente la quiete.
Due formule, un’unica cura. In entrambe ritroverete ogni comfort — biancheria, climatizzazione, wi-fi, bagno privato — e quell’attenzione ai dettagli che è la nostra firma.
LE SUITE DEI VENTI
Le nostre dimore portano i nomi dei venti del Mediterraneo — Levante, Ostro, Tramontana, Ponente, Scirocco, Libeccio, Maestrale, Grecale, Serena. Come i venti, ciascuna ha un proprio carattere: la luce che muta nell’arco della giornata, i materiali scelti a uno a uno, il silenzio che diventa lusso. Spazi disegnati da chi conosce l’architettura, e conosce l’isola.
PANE E VINO
C’è un gesto che racconta l’ospitalità meglio di mille parole: spezzare il pane, versare un calice, sedersi insieme. Saracino Pane e Vino è il nostro spazio all’aperto, leggero e informale, dove cominciare la giornata con una colazione, concedersi un panino, indugiare su un calice di vino o un drink mentre il tempo si distende. Sapori semplici, prodotti scelti, e la convivialità di un’isola che sa ancora accogliere.
DOVE SIAMO
Ci troviamo nel cuore del vecchio borgo, nella casa azzurra che si riconosce al primo sguardo, affacciata sulla vita del paese. Un punto di partenza ideale per scoprire l’isola: i sentieri, le calette, il porto a breve distanza.

Non siamo perfetti, e non fingiamo di esserlo. Ma ci mettiamo la faccia, ogni giorno. They say the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago were born from the seven pearls of a necklace that slipped into the sea. The legend is known to many; some still recall the pirate raids that once reached these shores. Yet few know the more intimate Capraia: a volcanic island, the furthest from the mainland, faithful to a rugged, authentic character that time never sought to soften.

No crowds, no haste. Only the sea, the red rock, the scent of Mediterranean scrub. It is from here that Il Saracino was born: not merely a place to stay, but an invitation to a slower, truer way of being in the world.
TWO WAYS TO EXPERIENCE THE ISLAND
Il Saracino holds two distinct souls, for every journey has its own desire. Our nine apartments welcome families and friends in spacious, light-filled rooms, with a kitchenette and the freedom to live the island at your own pace, as in a home of your own. The rooms, more intimate and pared-back, are made for couples, for solo travellers, for those who simply seek stillness.
Two formats, one same care. In both you will find every comfort — linens, air conditioning, wi-fi, private bathroom — and that attention to detail that is our signature.
THE SUITES OF THE WINDS
Our rooms carry the names of the Mediterranean winds — Levante, Ostro, Tramontana, Ponente, Scirocco, Libeccio, Maestrale, Grecale, Serena. Like the winds, each has a character of its own: light that shifts through the day, materials chosen one by one, a silence that becomes luxury. Spaces shaped by someone who knows architecture, and knows the island.
BREAD AND WINE
There is a gesture that tells the story of hospitality better than a thousand words: breaking bread, pouring a glass, sitting down together. Saracino Pane e Vino is our open-air space, light and informal, where you might begin the day with breakfast, pause for a sandwich, or linger over a glass of wine or a drink as time unwinds. Simple flavours, carefully chosen produce, and the conviviality of an island that still knows how to welcome.
WHERE WE ARE
We are in the heart of the old town, in the blue house you recognise at first glance, looking out over the life of the village. An ideal starting point for discovering the island: the trails, the coves, the harbour a short distance away.
